知念紅型研究所は、
空港から一駅の赤嶺駅近くに構える
琉球びんがた工房です。
知念家は、琉球から続く三宗家の一つ、
「下儀保知念家」を継ぐ工房。
これまで、
着物や帯を主とした作品を数多く染め、
多くのお客様にご愛用して頂いています。
「お客様にとって一点物を染めたい。」
伝統ある技法を守りながら、
色作りも色差しも全て手作業だからこそ、
叶う事だと考えています。
その想いを大切に抱きながら、
丁寧に染め上げ、
全国のお客さまのもとへお届け致します。
琉球王朝時代、知念家は中国から唐紙の技法や印金紙を学び、王朝からちくどぅんぺーちんという地位を与えられ、士族以上の階級が着用する紅型を作っていました。
During the Ryukyu Dynasty, the Chinen family learned karakami techniques and inked paper from China, and were given the status of chikudompechin by the dynasty, making Bingata worn by the warrior class and above.
